Shasta County - Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA)

The Shasta Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) comprises 25 school districts, the Shasta County Office of Education, and three charter schools that are local education agencies for special education purposes. Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires all states to implement a policy to identify, locate, and evaluate all children with disabilities.  This includes all school districts.
