As part of the 1:1 Digital Learning Initiative, Gateway Unified School District will be deploying over 3,000 Chromebooks to educational staff and students. Teachers will have the opportunity attend teacher- (and sometime IT-led) professional development on (and off) the Chromebooks including:
- Pedagogical uses in the classroom
- Use of apps in a classroom environment
- Device Management
- And other topics
The District has licensed the use of Google Suite, and supporting many other apps, on the Chromebooks to further enhance the classroom experience. Including, but not limited to:
- Slides - Presentation
- Sheets - Spreadsheet
- Docs - Document processing
- Drive - File storage and management
- Kami - PDF annotations
These apps integrate with the District's email, computer/network login, and document sharing between staff and students, allowing for seamless collaboration, and access of files from school or home.
